geervanee.in ("this site", "we", "us") is operated by Geervanee Educational Services LLP ("Geervanee", the "Data Fiduciary" under the DPDP Act). Geervanee Educational Services LLP also owns and operates two sibling platforms under the same Geervanee brand: the Saṃskṛtasaṃsad mobile and web app (also called "Samskrta Samsad" or "the App") and geervanee.com, Geervanee's live-classes learning platform.
All three properties — geervanee.in, the Saṃskṛtasaṃsad app, and geervanee.com — share a single Privacy Policy and a single sign-in ("Geervanee ID"), since they're operated by the same entity and a visitor moving between them shouldn't have to sign in three separate times or agree to three separate policies. This policy explains what personal data we collect from you ("Data Principal", "you") across these properties, why, how it's used, who it's shared with, and the rights you have over it.

Our legal basis for processing is your consent, given at sign-up and re-confirmable at any time (see Section 8).
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers ("Data Processors") who help us run geervanee.in and Geervanee's other properties, strictly to the extent needed for that purpose:
Within Geervanee itself, access to your personal data is role-restricted — for example, an Admin can view and export registered users' names, emails, and phone numbers (for operational purposes like WhatsApp campaign targeting) from a tool only the Admin role can reach; a Contributor or Learner cannot.
We may also disclose your data if required by law, court order, or a lawful request from a government or regulatory authority.
geervanee.in uses cookies and similar identifiers to run the analytics and advertising tools listed above. This applies even if you've never signed in — a first-time, anonymous visitor is measured the same way a returning one is, since ad-campaign performance depends on seeing this. A banner on your first visit lets you accept or decline these tools; declining stops all five of them (Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, and Microsoft Clarity) from loading, and geervanee.in works the same either way — nothing you can do on the site depends on accepting.
Courses on geervanee.com may be offered directly by Geervanee or by an independent franchise operating under a Geervanee-branded subdomain. Regardless of which subdomain you register or pay on, Geervanee collects your course fees directly and remains accountable for your data under this policy.
Some of the above providers process or store data on servers located outside India. The DPDP Act permits such transfers except to countries the Central Government specifically restricts by notification; as of this policy's effective date, we are not aware of any such restriction affecting our providers. By using geervanee.in, you consent to this transfer.
We retain your personal data for as long as your Geervanee ID is active. Since your Geervanee ID works across geervanee.in, the App, and geervanee.com, these options apply to your whole account, not just one property:
Outside of an account deletion, we otherwise retain data for as long as required for legal, accounting, dispute-resolution, or academic-recordkeeping purposes (for example, payment records, moderation records tied to a content report, your course grades and coursework — which we keep even after a geervanee.com course account is suspended under Section 5 above, consistent with standard academic recordkeeping practice — or the deletion feedback described in Section 2, which is kept separately from the rest of your account and survives this 90-day erasure).
A Contact or Saṃskṛtabhāratam enquiry isn't tied to a Geervanee ID, so it isn't covered by the Dismiss/Delete options above — instead, we keep it for as long as reasonably needed to respond to your enquiry and any course follow-up you opted into, and delete it sooner on request even if you never created an account (see Section 10).
We rely on our infrastructure providers' security controls (encryption in transit and at rest, access controls) and apply our own access-control rules so that only the right people can read or change specific data. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Geervanee's properties are intended for users aged 8 and above. Under the DPDP Act, anyone under 18 is a "child," and we may only process a child's personal data with verifiable consent from a parent or guardian.
If we become aware that a child's data was collected without this verified consent, we will delete it.
